Many of the lilium that I grow here need special attention to the details of the requirements to have survival. They are not all difficult, we just have to think about a few variables.
Where are they native from.
What are the conditions during the growing season and dormant seasons.
Water — wet, moist, dry or in-between…. that is where it can get tricky.
Sun, Partial, Shade—
Soil requirements—
I grow species lilium… Some do not make it as I am one that does not have the real time to fuss over them too much. I will plant them where I believe that they will be happy, and await to see if they return in the spring after the bitter cold tundra that we experience here in the mid-west of North America.
Here I will add a photo of the species that have been successful with reappearing and if you would like to see added photos and my notes, I have a link page as a sub category under this title… Please take a look and do remember that all comments are welcome as I am learning and I seek education of lilium and their relatives.
