Paisley (Group/Hybrid)

This historic hybrid. L. martagon album x L. hasonii was hybridized in the 1950’s. Elegant nodding yellow with peach tips as the photos of the this hybrid that I personally have,  creates an amazing display in some of the shadowed spaces in your gardens. The flowers face downward giving it what would appear as butterflies in flight. (We can see the album in this hybrid).

There are many that belong to this group displaying an array of the color pallet. I have seen yellow-orange, pink-rosy, tangerines as well as deep burgundy … making it very difficult to identify with the selective group that J. de Graff chose.  This is a pale undertones of cream-yellow as the image shows.  please note, that I could place other photos of the other martagons of Paisley, but it could bet very confusing on what you would be receiving.

× dalhansonii Paisley Group II(-/d) Parentage: martagon var. album X hansonii R: J. de Graaff (c. 1955), N: J. de Graaff Fls yellow-orange, lilac-purple, tangerine or mahogany, all with tiny maroon dots. Stems 1-1.5 m.

This particular one is buff and pale. (This is one of the harder to find Paisley Hybrids) I am attracted to this with its creamy taupe tepals of color, this one wanes to unique cream colors as it fades.

4 feet tall—- blooms well in a woodland garden or with hosta hybrids growing at their feet. Paisly Hybrids are unique and as I say—- difficult and hard to find these days.
