‘Madeline Holloway’ II(-/-) Parentage: probably L. × dalhansonii ‘Sutton Court’ X unknown R: R. Erskine (c. 1975), G: R. Erskine, N: R. Erskine (1996), I: R. Erskine, REG: R. Erskine (1996).

Inside yellow, blushed pink, throat pale yellow; outsidepink in bud, opening with a pink stripe on each tepal; spots many, large, mostly in the centre of each tepal;nectaries pale yellow; pollen orange. Fls 70 mm wide; tepals 35 × 15 mm, margins smooth, tips slightly recurved. Lvs whorled, 160 × 35 mm, mid green. Stems over 1.2 m, brown-spotted, and c.40 fls of very heavy substance.  Truly a classic for the gardens. Planting these in-between the hosta and astilbe make a statement in the design of the gardens.

Plant 5-6 inches deep and water in well. Do not plant in full shade as they will not thrive. They do not want continuous moist wet soil conditions.

The delicious brown stems collide with the glorious reverse of the tepals.
