












Tiger- L. lancifloium lily —- sassy and submissive. Do you know that I have been here for the test of time… I have seen great that have fallen and crumbled. Yet here I am in the known ikebana of strength and beauty. Many rename the splendens of tigrinum, or the distant cousin of Flore Pleno—- a double blast that’s for sure.
Native and adaptable China-Japan-Korea Russia- and so many other places. Often L. lancifloium are described in numerous publications all across the world. L. lancifloium is a survivor— I have seen it for 50 years as I revisit my childhood playgrounds. Some mention the plain, simple & orange lily as common. Contrary to those accusations, I see— Exotic- sEXY and wild ( ness ) with Raw passion, voluptuous tepals and those slippered anthers. CURLS THAT some of us girls would kill for!
How important to past breeding It was, and is still used today —- but we all know how the genetics work — 😉 — Here I have a mass planting of L. lancifloium. The patch that increased over the last 5 years. I enjoy making sure that I have a plethora for my designs and arrangements with the season of autumn.
There are many faces of ‘Tiger Lilies’ pink, yellow, white and red of L.tigrinum (aka lancifolium) these days—– but my childhood memories of grandmothers orange lilies will be still in my heart and they will always find a way to bloom each season.
